Coach Boylan was looking to stretch the SAINTS recent good form and secure the highest League finish possible in the remaining games in the regular season. Hoops have produced some surprise results in their quest for honours in this as yet undecided Northern Conference!

Pistol Pete opened the scoring with a 3 pointer followed by Taylor Lay’s 3 pointer for the Hoops. The SAINTS were working hard inside and out and this reflected in the scoring at Qtr end 36 <> 23 in SAINTS favour. Thanks to Emmet and McNeill in the offence with the BIG man, Kenny on “D” for the Saints.

What happened next was a treat for the sport of basketball, 100% from outside from James D and top scoring this Qtr on 16 pts. Kenny now in foul trouble, and resting on the bench. Big Mike Trimmer takes charge of the boards and with some lax defence from Hoops, Emmet picks the open man under the basket with ease. The SAINTS are now on a roll, J.Reed stepping up the offence but it’s not looking good as the SAINTS impose their superior armoury with selected scores both inside and out. Emmet, Eoin, McNeill, Trimmer and Pistol Pete line up for the second half. Hoops remain loyal to their starting 5 every Qtr. Taylor Lay, (now guarded by McGuirk subbed in for McNeill (4 fouls), having regained his form and now top scorer this Qtr on 14pts. Gamble re introduced with 5 minutes on the game clock managing to add 9pts more to his tally. Hoops playing better but the SAINTS are still in control of this game.
